NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers) recently published their yearly list of endowments for institutions of higher learning in the United States, its protectorates and Canada. Previously, we published a list of the top ten American universities and colleges by number of undergrad alumni billionaires. We wondered if that ranking or the age of an institution played any factor in endowment rankings. The answer? A definite… sometimes. A few of the oldest American institutions are in-fact top-ranked for both endowment and number of undergrad alumni billionaires — including Harvard, which is #1 in all three cases. But this is not always the case. We’ve filtered NACUBO’s 2014 list (PDF, published Feb 2015) for the top ten wealthiest private colleges and universities in the United States by endowment and present the results here.
