Rob Gronkowski has been playing in the NFL for five years and he has earned $16.3 million. The star New England Patriots player has at least $16.3 million in his bank account. That’s because Gronkowski has avoided the lavish spending habits of other NFL players.
Peter King of theMMQB.com got his hands on some excerpts from Gronkowski’s upcoming autobiography, “It’s Good to be Gronk.” In those excerpts the fan favorite writes:
“To this day, I still haven’t touched one dime of my signing bonus or NFL contract money. I live off my marketing money and haven’t blown it on any big-money expensive cars, expensive jewelry or tattoos and still wear my favorite pair of jeans from high school.”
Gronkowski entered the NFL as a second-round pick and received a $1.8 million signing bonus. During his first two seasons he earned $320,000 and $450,000, respectively.
However, following his second season in the league he signed a six-year, $54 million contract with an $8.0 million signing bonus.
How does he survive without spending any money from his NFL salary? Gronk’s endorsement deals have included BodyArmor SuperDrink and Dunkin’ Donuts.
He’s definitely not living in poverty, but don’t expect to see him cruising down the street in a $1 million McLaren anytime in the near future either.
