Peter Read is no longer a general partner at Google Ventures. At this time, TechCrunch reports that it is unclear if Google will fill the seat in its European arm.
With Read taking his leave, Google Ventures Europe is now being run by general partners Eze Vidra, Tom Hulme, and Avid Larizadeh. Google Ventures partner MG Siegler has also been helping its European arm get up and running.
Through May 2015, the European arm was invested in only one company, music rights collection platform Kobalt. In June the company announced new funding for the Oxford Science Innovation Fund, e-commerce startup Yieldify, and children’s book company Lost My Name.
The European VC fund launched in July 2014. The fund is focused on finding the best European entrepreneurs.
