Sony’s Upcoming 4K Network Camera

Sony has showed off their upcoming 4K network camera, the SNC-VM772R. This waterproof and dustproof network camera is equipped with a 1.0-inch type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, a 2.9x optical zoom ratio, 70.7 degrees (wide end) to 27.5 degrees (tele end) of horizontal angle of view, 1x LAN port, 1x HDMI output port, 1x audio input port, 2x sensor input ports and 2x alarm output ports.

Other highlights include Day & Night function (IR-cut filter system), Motion Detection function and Infrared radiation (IR irradiation distance: approx. 50m (30 IRE)). Finally, the SNC-VM772R can capture both 2160p 4K video at 30fps in H.264 video compression and up to 20MP digital still images in JPEG format.

The Sony SNC-VM772R will begin shipping from August 20th for 358,000 Yen (about $2,919). [Product Page]
