Upgrading Photography by Upgrading the Photographer

I’m of the opinion that a camera is only as good as the person wielding it… so an accessory for the photographer makes as much a difference to the output as an accessory for the camera does.

An unlikely product that’s poised to massively upgrade your capabilities as a photographer, the Langly Field Jacket was designed by photographers, for photographers. Its triple-layered construction allows the wearer to stay sheltered in the rain, wind, and even the snow. Developed around a proprietary technology called Weathershield, the jacket keeps water, dust, and snow out while still remaining breathable on the inside.

While the build and the fabric allows photographers to overcome tough weather conditions, the design of the jacket itself only enhances that fact. On the outside, the jacket has four cargo pockets that can fit lenses as large as 200mm, while allowing you to holster your camera while you’re preparing yourself for a shot. The Langly also comes with a tether system that attaches to various accessories, like a memory-card holder with space for as many as 7 different memory cards, a DSLR battery pouch, as well as a separate battery pouch for your flash. Additionally, it even comes with a lens-cap holder (and even a lens wipe cloth), so you’re never rummaging around in your backpack to store/retrieve accessories. The jacket comes with an RFID lining around the pockets too, letting you store your wallet, cards or passport in easy-to-access spots that’s secure even from digital theft. With the Langly, every object is always at arm’s length, and can be accessed without as much as looking away from your viewfinder. On the inside, the Langly comes with four pouches too, all made to be see-through, along with an intuitive concealed cable-duct, allowing you to hide your earphone wires within the jacket itself.

The Langly’s construction empowers the photographer to overcome conditions that would inhibit their skills. Its weatherproof construction lets you shoot in conditions that would prove too demanding for a photographer. Made for not just rain and snow, the Langly can overcome heat too, thanks to openable vents on the jacket’s underarm, letting your skin breathe easily. The wireframe hood cuts out the rain and snow, while also providing respite from the glaring sun.

There’s an incredible amount of detail that’s gone into the Langly, because while most accessories focus on upgrading the camera, the Langly empowers the person holding it. Made to allow photographers and videographers to push themselves to the absolute limit, the Langly makes shooting in any and every condition easier. Its feature-laden design puts every camera accessory on your person and within arm’s reach, so you never have to turn your eye away from the subject and you’re always ready to take that one-in-a-million shot!

CONCEPT & DESIGN

The inspiration for the Langly Field Jacket comes from one of the most iconic utilitarian designs of all time, the M-65 field jacket. Originally developed by the military to function in any climate, the M-65 keeps cool on hot days, warm on cold nights, and dry during monsoons. The four large pockets secure all your necessities within easy reach, while the jacket’s clean lines lend it a timeless quality that still influences contemporary style. Our jacket features multiple reinforced snap-flap pockets; an adjustable hood and cuffs; a wind and water-resistant shell; and only the finest hardware available. This garment shines in any weather you may encounter in the city — or on the road.

Starting from scratch, they engineered their own state of the art materials. Their proprietary weather-shield technology keeps moisture and wind outside the shell while still letting your body breathe, wicking away perspiration to keep you warm and dry. In addition, every seam on the jacket is fully tape-sealed, ensuring a completely weatherproof shell.

Mobility and comfort were also top priorities. Their raglan sleeve design offers unrestricted range of motion without bulk or bunching, retaining our ideal silhouette. Downpours will roll right off the adjustable wireframe hood; its pull-cord system lets you simply and accurately adjust the hood shape and size to your liking. In warmer weather, zippered vents under the arms make it easy to let off steam.

Tailored pockets cater specifically to personal devices and the modern globetrotter’s need to access them. Pass-through channels covertly route headphone or battery charger cables from the exterior to the interior upper pockets. They have also lined the pockets with an RFID-blocking material to keep your passport, credit cards, and travels documents secure. In photo configuration mode, the Langly Field Jacket features a tether system that can be attached inside the front pockets. The system keeps as many as five much-used accessories at hand.

Every single component, every single process has been considered and measured to make everyday life seamless whether you’re exploring beyond the boundaries or on location getting the perfect shot.
