With a whopping blade length of 3.8 inches, the F3 Charlie isn’t your average pocket flipper… It’s larger, more front-heavy, and was designed to be dependable in tactical situations. Bigger in size than its siblings, the F1 Alpha and F2 Bravo (both of which we at YD absolutely love), the F3 Charlie was inspired by hunting and skinning knives, with a drop-point blade and a curved profile. Its handle, however, is made from G10 fiberglass, giving you a large knife that’s still light enough to be expertly maneuvered, and then folded shut and stowed away when you’re done.

The folks at Tekto have built a reputation for themselves in the knife community, especially for their OTF knives which remain some of the most enjoyable switchblades your hands could play with. The F3 Charlie isn’t one of those. Built instead with a flipper mechanism and a button lock, this folding knife isn’t for tactile pleasure, it’s a serious tactical tool meant for business. The knife measures a whopping 9 inches when open, 3.8 of that being the blade itself. This gives you a handle that’s 5.2 inches long, meaning you can grip it incredibly well – more so with the grooves built onto the handle’s design and a recessed liner for extra ergonomics.

Using the F3 Charlie is a breeze, thanks to how comfortable it is to hold and maneuver. At 4.5 ounces (127 grams), the F3 Charlie is incredibly light for its size, a feature that’s attributed to the knife’s G10 fiberglass handle. The weight lies predominantly in the F3 Charlie’s blade, which really works in your favor when you’ve got heavy-duty work to do. The D2 steel blade comes with a titanium finish, making it incredibly resilient, while the drop-point, aggressively curved blade is great for piercing or stabbing, scraping, slicing, skinning, and more. Jimping on the top of the blade makes holding and maneuvering the F3 Charlie even easier, allowing your thumb to press down while cutting and slicing.

Deploying the F3 Charlie comes easily with a finger flipper and a button lock that takes a fraction of a second to swivel the blade out. Pressing the button relaxes the blade’s mechanism, and a simple flick of your wrist gives the blade the momentum it needs to flip outwards. Release the button and the blade locks reliably in place. It’s a delightful, addictive experience that lets you truly use the F3 Charlie blade’s weight to its advantage. After you shut the blade, the F3 Charlie slides right into your pocket thanks to its deep pocket clip located on the handle. There’s a lanyard hole built into the handle’s design too, just in case you want to hang your EDC anywhere.

Recessed Liners – F3 Charlie’s recessed liners bolster its robustness while maintaining a sleek profile. In the finger choil, exposed liners with tactical jimping assure enhanced grip for relentless, heavy-duty performance.

Oversized Blade – The F3 Charlie boasts a powerful oversized D2 titanium-coated blade, combining immense strength and razor-sharp precision. It’s the top choice for resilience and high-performance in tactical scenarios.

Smooth Button Lock – The F3 Charlie excels with its smooth button lock mechanism, guaranteeing swift blade deployment and confident handling. In tactical situations where every second counts, this feature becomes indispensable.

The Tekto F3 Charlie comes with 4 handles to choose from – Black, Gray, OD Green, and a gorgeous Damascus G10. The blade comes with a black finish, thanks to the titanium coating on the D2 steel. Like all of Tekto’s EDC, the F3 Charlie ships with a limited lifetime warranty that covers any and all defects in materials or workmanship.
